Lapinsalmi Rental Base is a self-service rental base for self-employed hikers. In summer, you can rent canoes and SUP boards and in winter, e.g. snowshoe. By renting a canoe, you can take a ring route trip aroung the Repovesi National park.
Lapinsalmi Rental Base
Lapinsalmi Rental Base is located in the Repovesi National Park at the gate of Lapinsalmi at the address Riippusillantie 55 47910 Kouvola just right between the parking lot and the shore, in a building next to the rescue road leading to the shore of lake Kapiavesi, i.e. in the direction of "Fox Ferry". The building has rental offices for several entrepreneurs, and you can recognize Lapinsalmi Rental Base by the sign above the door ("Lapinsalmen välinevuokraamo"). There is a canoe shelter at the end of the building. The operation of the rental base is based on strong trust between the merchant and the customers.
How the rental base works, how the door opens
Rent and pay for rental equipment in the online store. After payment, you will receive the necessary PIN codes to the e-mail address and mobile phone number you provided. PIN code messages are sent to the customer 60 min before the start of the rental. The e-mail message contains detailed instructions and codes, the text message only the codes.
The rental base's door PIN code is used in the lower (electronic) key box (lIgloohome) on the right side of the rental base´s door, where the customer gets the key to the rental base´s door lock.
The PIN code of the key box for the canoe lock is used inside the rental base for the key box on the right side of the door, which says "kanootit, canoes". You can get the key to the canoe lock from the box.
The PIN code of the equipment cabinet lock's key box is used inside the rental base for the key box on the right side of the door, which says "varustekaappi, equipment cabinet". You can get the equipment cabinet key from the box.
At the rental base door, do the following:
The key box is on the right side of the rental base door, use the lower key box
Touch the lock image in the middle of the key box, the box responds with one beep
Enter the PIN code you received and finally press the lock image in the middle of the key box
The box mourns, emits a three-tone beep, and a green light flashes in the middle of the box
Grasp the left and right side of the boxwith a forefinger - thumb grip and open the box lid and pick up the key and open the base door.
Open the rental base door and pick up the equipment you rented. The key boxes for the canoe lock and equipment locker are immediately to the right of the door. When you have collected the equipment and unlocked the canoe, for example, leave the keys in the key boxes and close the lids of the box. The electronic key box mourns when closed, beeps once for a long time, and at the same time the green light lights up for a moment in the middle of the box.
Leave the key of the rental base in the key boxes before you go on the excursion. This also allows other users to use the rental base´s products. Before starting the excursion, make sure that you will not be able to do so. before taking the canoe to the water, that you left the keys in the key boxes!
The base door has a QR code that redirects you to this website and guides you through, among other things, opening a key box.
Monitoring
Lapinsalmi rental base is a 24-hour supervised space. Each self-service user is identified and registered. All abuses, thefts and the like are reported to the police. In connection with a criminal complaint, camera surveillance recordings, identifiers and related personal data are submitted to the authority.
