In addition to the giant dead pine tree stumps, there are also "palokoroja" (fired tree stumps) along the trail, i.e. stumps where you can see charred wood. A single fired tree stump could be explained, for example, made by a woodcutter when he has made coffee but several fired tree stumps in the same area indicate some kind of forest fire. In the fire, the tree was damaged and thus caused fire damage "palokoro".
This "palokoro" in the picture is just on the trail, you can't pass it without noticing it!
