Description of the difficulty of the trail section:
The trail section is not seen all-the-time as on open and clear trail in the terrain.
From the crossing of Sikoniemi road, the trail goes up Hill Puunlatvamerkinmäki. In places, the forest is a very dense. The very last ascent to the top of the hill is guite demanding for those who is moving on wide skishoes. The trail is easy for snowshoes and especially those using poles, despite the height difference.
The downhill section down from Hill Puunlatvamerkinmäki is medium to demanding for wide skishoes. The difficulty is due to the difference in height and the dense forest. For those moving on snowshoes, the trail is easy despite the height difference.
The trail climbs up Aihki Hill gently, twisting steep climbs. However, the ascent is guite demanding for those moving on wide skishoes due to the dense forest. For those moving on snowshoes, the ascent is easy despite the height difference. Move on the top of the hill only on the marked trail because the edges of the hill outside the trail can be slippery.
The descent from Aihki hill with wide skishoes is medium to demanding due to the height difference and the dense forest. For snowshoes, the descent is gentle and therefore easy.
After descending from Aihki hill, before the Sand pit, the trail continues for a short distance through a dense pine forest and on rocks. This part of the trail is easy to move.
Direction of movement:
The direction of the trail is clockwise. The trail is two-way on the section Tervajärvi - Puunlatvamerkinmäki. Note, two-way movement at the bottom of the hill (watch out for oncoming movement) for a very short distance. Otherwise, the direction of movement must be followed.
Character of the trail section:
The trail section goes through two hills, offering the hiker ups and downs. The area of the trail section, which was cut in the 1970s, is now approx. 40 years old dense and untended pine forest, where the passerby can see or hear e.g. grouses or their traces. In the imprint between two hills, there are often plenty of hare tracks.
